Maroon 5's "Memories", Still the Most Nostalgic Song in 5 Years

Maroon 5 is an American pop band consisting of 7 (at the moment) multi-talented singers from Los Angeles, California. Since their formation in 1994 as teenagers, they have produced many hit songs and topped billboards from time to time. In 2019, they released ''Memories'' as a single that later topped the eventual album Jordi in 2021.

''Memories'' is a nostalgic song that magnifies the value of time and people and the fickleness of life. It opens by painting the picture of a group of people who are gathered in a place (for whatever reason) but first choose to remember those who used to be part of them but are no more. For sure, I can say that if you have ever lost a friend (not just to death, maybe there was a fall out), a loved one, a good romantic relationship or marriage, a business, an opportunity, a nonsense job you had at a time and even tried to hang on to or anything at all, these very lines will bring them all back to you. And maybe somewhere in your recesses, you would wish things were really different.

The second verse of the song dwells on how confused one's mind can be after losing something or someone dear and the quantum of hatred or dreariness that follows. Few months ago, Dr Olumide Emmanuel shared his marital woes on camera and described how his world literally crashed when his first wife left him. After he had suffered for a while, his heart felt like an ember and started to light up the dark the crash brought in its wake.
