How 'Heaven's Hell' shined at EKOIFF in 2015

 

Heaven's Hell is a a feature film of 1hour 51 minutes that was selected to be shown at the grand finale of the 2015 edition of Eko International Film Festival by a panel of ace producers and directors including Joseph Ubaka Ugochukwu, Tope Oshin, Choke Ibekwe, Victor Okhai and Francis Onwochei. Co-produced with Delyork International and directed by Katung Direkta Aduwak, it stars a number of Nigeria's best actors involving Bilbo Akinola, New Nope Etim, Gideon Okeke, Oc Ukeje, Kalu Ikeagwu, Damilola Adegbite, Chet Anekwe, Fabian Olojede, Femi Jacobs and many more. It was a  relishing moment for the producers when screams and shouts accompanied Katung (the winner of the previous Big Brother Naija) the director to the stage to receive the award for Best Nigerian Film of 2015.

Heaven's Hell is a psychological movie that is set both in Wales, UK and Lagos, Nigeria. It relieves the true story of Grace, a woman that was married to a rich psychopathic lawyer who relocated to Nigeria after beating his first wife to death in the UK. After suffering for fifteen years, Grace killed her husband one night in a duel with a knife and this led to her eventual death too in the name of justice.

At the beginning of the movie, we are introduced to an intriguing suspense through an inconclusive scene where there is a kill and we don't know who kills or has been killed. This intrigue is heightened by Jeff Aliyu's (Chet Anekwe) intern (Damilola Adegbite) who walks up to Tsola (Bimbo Akintola), Jeff's new wife at the ball room to introduce herself as Jeff's new staff and future  wife. Crazy! Soon enough, we are also let in on the path to eventual betrayal of love and trust, psychopathy, depression and the death of Alice Henshaw (Her Nope Etim) and Edward Henshaw a.k.a Alibi Dumia (Fabian Olojede), the perceived angel.
