Submissions are open for Nalubaale Review's new edition

A Ugandan publication, Nalubaale Review, is calling on talented writers to feature in its forthcoming annual publication themed Departure and Survival . Eligible writers must submit only works that reflect this compelling topic as it resonates with the complexities of the human experience from different angles. Submissions are open until February 28, 2025.

According to the editor, "This year’s theme aims to inspire a wide range of storytelling and creative expression. Departure offers a rich terrain for reflecting on transitions, farewells, and the emotional landscapes of leaving, while Survival invites stories of resilience, hope, and perseverance." Below are the submission guidelines:

• Writers may submit a maximum of three poems, each no longer than two pages.
• Short stories should range between 1,000 and 5,000 words.
• Essays should range between 2,000 and 4,000 words.
• A maximum of two short stories per writer is allowed.
• Submissions must align with the themes Departure and Survival.
• Submissions should be in Microsoft Word or PDF format.

Nalubaale Review encourages submissions from both new and established African writers, providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives.
