The Three Sure Ps
A quick look at the topic could set your mind on the one-time Uncle Jonathan's Subsidy Re-Investment Programme, no doubt, but the SURE Ps here are the three surefire weapons you need to achieve and sustain success in life. These three Ps will shape your orientation and constantly remind you that, truly, you have a purpose on the surface of the earth.
First of all, did you know that the Earth continuously spins at the rate of 700 to 1,038 miles per hour? That's quite a spin; you will agree with me. But then, again, I ask, do you feel this spin? Now, I need you to picture this: just as the Earth spins on its axis and we, the inhabitants of the Earth, don't feel it, that's the same way we don't feel the results of passion, perseverance, and patience at least not immediately. These three SURE Ps (passion, perseverance, and patience) will keep encouraging you to dream, visualize, persevere, and carry on with your own conviction in the face of daunting challenges and apparent realities that will sometimes put you in a difficult situation, leaving you to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea.
It is possible that results may not be visible as you work, but will, somehow, if you keep at it. As a matter of fact, the higher you want to reach on the ladder of success, the harder the process will seem, and trust me, almost always, it is just too frustrating.
Have you heard of a man called Buhari? Well, he was the president of Nigeria. Remember how many times he vied for that position? It was about four times (2003-2015,) and he failed three times. He never gave up even though his strength was failing him. He persevered and kept his eyes on the prize to become Nigeria's number one man. When he failed the first, second, and third time, he didn't stop: he waited for the fourth time (patience). That was when victory came his way.
Have you tried something like five or six times, and you feel No more!? Well, let me open your eyes of understanding a little more. The man who invented the light bulb, Thomas Edison, as a young child was described by his teacher as being ''too stupid'' to learn anything. He was fired from his first two jobs for being ''non-productive''. As an inventor, Thomas Edison continued his failing streak by making one thousand unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When asked after achieving success how he felt to have failed those times, he said he didn't fail one thousand times and that the light bulb was only an invention with one thousand steps! This response got me thinking for a long time, and I'm sure it is doing the same to you right now.
What is wrong with re-writing your story positively? Well, that is definitely a topic for another day. Meanwhile, I'll leave you with this powerful quote from Pitbull: ''Patience, Passion, Perseverance equals success.'' Believe that and keep aiming for the stars.
