Darey and Kim Kardashian and her one-minute appearance on stage in 2013

Do you remember the controversies that trailed Darey Art-Alade's first Love Like a Movie concert in 2013? Oh yeah, there you go. So, in 2013, Darey launched a first of it's kind concert in Nigeria tagged 'Love Like a Movie'. It's a kind of concert that blends theatric performances with musical performances from different artistes from the beginning to the end without a single break. However, one of the perks of the show was having Kim Kardashian co-host the red carpet.

But in a twist of events, tongues wouldn't stop wagging after the show about Kim Kardashian's 'unsatisfactory' dressing, behaviour and comments about Nigeria and her one- minute appearance on stage. All of which many felt didn't worth the $500,000 she was paid at the time.

After so much back and forth and Kim's eventual succumb to address the issue, Darey explained in detail on iGroove radio, an online platform of Genevieve's magazine that he didn't pay Kim Kardashian $500k. He said what he paid was way lesser. Secondly, he said Kim Kardashian, in fairness to her, was not contractually bound to host the main event other than the red carpet and her one-minute appearance to introduce the night's event on stage was an after thought which she agreed to. He therefore added that Kim was a wonderful person who was still surviving despite all the negative circumstances trailing her person.
