In a few months
I will become nothing but a faint memory.
When you think of me, you will smile to yourself
And wonder what a sweet contradiction I was.
What sort of a person gives even when they have not,
Laughs when their heart's numb,
And loves when they receive none in return?
In a few years
You’d probably wonder what killed my spark
Or maybe not.
Maybe you wouldn’t think of me at all.
But I will think of you, and fondly too.
As a soul whose touch once felt like home
The one person I could unapologetically be myself around.
