1. ''Amanyanbo: The Eagle King''

Written by Ibanabo Fiberesima and Ikenna Onyekwena, and directed by ace actor and filmmaker, Fred Amata, ''Amanyanbo, the Eagle King'' showcases the socio-economic and political structure of the Ijaw people and their resilience to external incursion. Drawing its title from the appellation of kings or natural rulers in the communities, we are drawn into the clash between them and the colonial masters of the time, and the king's dilemma of choosing glory over his people or protecting them at all costs.

2. ''My Father's Shadow''

With an international award (Special Mention for the Camera d'Or) trailing its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on the 18th of May, rest assured you're getting nothing but the best. Written by the Davies brothers, Akinola and Wale, the movie explores their relived experiences as young boys who visit their struggling father in Lagos. Coincidentally, it was the day Nigeria held its 1993 presidential election, which would later lead to political unrest.

3. ''Red Circle''

This movie centres on a young journalist, Fikayo Holloway, from a wealthy home with a strong desire to write her own name in the sand of time by breaking free from the constraints of her privileged upbringing. However, her attempts to be recognised for her journalistic prowess are constantly thwarted by her boss, who pigeonholes her into the realm of fashion and lifestyle reporting. But everything changes when her best friend dies under suspicious circumstances, and Fikayo's desire to investigate.

4. ''Ibobo: The Blind Seer''

This movie relays the mysticism of the world. From the friendship of Ogidiga and King Obanze, who later facilitated his death, to his reincarnation, he sparks a series of brutal wars between kingdoms. However, only Ibobo, a blind seer who knows the truth about the past and the fate of the kingdom, can save them. He's the only one who can reveal the secrets and uncover the mysteries that will stop Ogidiga.
