Ake Arts Festival Resurfaces with ''Reclaiming Truth''

Since its debut in 2013, Ake Arts and Book Festival, featuring over one thousand creatives, has fostered the cultural feasting of literary condiments such as book readings and discussions bordering on all tentacles of creativity: music, movies, and societal issues necessitating them. Rotated between Lagos and Abeokuta over the years, this thirteenth edition is a spectacle of lushness and depth with the theme ''Reclaiming Truth''.

According to the organisers, ''Our discussions will explore ideological bias, media literacy, the role of storytellers in shaping collective memory, and the foundational value of shared truths.'' Hence, it wouldn't just be three days of cultural immersion; it would be a rallying cry for reclaiming truth when narratives are engineered to obscure realities, urging readers to rediscover the power of authenticity and the courage of integrity.

The events lined up for the festival, slated to take place between the 20th and 22nd of November 2025, at Bon Hotel, Ikeja, include panel discussions, book chats, poetry, and lots of music. With about sixty guests from all over the world, including Adania Shibli, Adedapo Adeniyi, Adesuwa O'man Nwokedi, Adrian Harewood, Alhan Islam, Bofane In Koli, and many more, attendees are sure to have a swell time.
