Flash Fiction Friday: Queen of Lamba
By Yamilenu Bamgboye
Chisom’s life had been perfect, really perfect. She was churchy, morally upright and conscientious. Her first year in the university had been without glitches until Tunde, the ice breaker showed up. Not long after they met, her entire defence broke down. She was in love. If only she knew Tunde’s heart was a rock and nothing like love could ever germinate, if only she knew.…
Three weeks after, he parted her red sea with his rod and wouldn’t stop the routine until the end of their second year. Then Ahmed came along in her third year. By this time, her craving for constant lamba was excessively high. Then she advanced to dating two guys at once so she could have enough of it. And when she was graduating from a five year course, ten guys had already ticked present ma’am in her register. She remembered all this as she spoke regrettably about them with her to-be-husband. She was sincerely sober and wished she never went to school at all.
