Why Lawrence Oyor's 'Favour' is the Most-Streamed Song Yet

   

Lawrence Oyor's Favour was released in the early days of January 2025 and since then, it has become Spotify's most-streamed song across the board up till now. The song has amassed over 2.1 million views on YouTube (since it premiered on January 10) and over 2.9 million streams (and still counting on Spotify). This is a fete many are shocked to see a faith-based song achieve against the backdrop of secular songs by popular artistes like Asake, Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Olamide and so on that have always occupied that spot.

Favour isn't just a song but a spiritual chant of declarations that prophetically invokes the power of God over unpleasant situations or create a desired order in different spheres of life and opens up our spirits to the reality of God's word affirming our dominance over them. This is very much needed at this time when there is so much economic palava and social orisirisi you would say but se wahala dey finish ni? So, when it appears like you're undesirable or hated, remember the word of God in Psalm 5:12 that says, ''For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous: with favour, You will surround him as with a shield', then turn it into a chant and say convincingly that:

 Favour,     
                                                                                                                                        
 It surrounds me like a shield                                                                                                        
 Until the day I see my king

 And it will cover me from now                                                                                                    

Of a truth, many go to church but do not know that Christianity is a complete package. We are not all about the blessings promised, we are also about the assurance of our safety even in dangerous situations and our victory in Christ. In Psalm 34:7, the Bible says, ''The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them''.

Affirmations are powerful. They are words that consciously combat unwanted realities by transforming them into desired ones and aligning with the realities of the God of word, His promises and will for us individually. No wonder the Bible says, ''As a man thinks in his heart so is he'. What are you thinking about or going through? Does it align with the will of God for you? Stir up your spirit with fire, attract mercy with your words and pull down that thought: turn that situation around with positive declarations deeply rooted in His word. You will be shocked at your victory!
