The ironies of life after school

When we were kids, we wanted to be everything. We had aspirations that soared to the highest altitudes even though they switched from time to time. But as small as we were, we always knew there was something more; it's just that our little minds couldn't tell what the ironies of existence were after all. On and on, we swayed into adulthood along this path called life  to embrace realities and the need to find purpose started.

May I at this juncture say knowing your purpose has a possibilty of having something or nothing to do with what has been studied in the university. If you ask me, I would say some are lucky enough to find it in their university days. Some know even before their university days such that their choices are well informed. Some don't until many or few years after while some are never willing to ever know. Knowing your purpose helps define your direction in life; it is a map that leads you to the fulfilment of destiny. From another angle, it is that which succintly defines how much of you is given to a particular pursuit.

To be honest, the realites of life after school can be quite daunting, challenging especially when you can't give breath to all the hopes and aspirations you had while studying hard to secure a gate pass to a good life. It becomes worse off when you struggle really hard to secure a job. And when you finally do, it's way out of your field, desire and passion. So, for survival sake, you have no choice but to get along somehow, anyhow existing as 'incognito'  in the dreams of others.

However, this is life, this is reality and the good thing about the education you've acquired is your preparedness to take up new challenges as you evolve. Remember the proverbial saying that goes 'When life gives you lemons, make lemonade'? That's exactly what is expected of you. No employer wants excuses of all what not but results. So, make the most of the 'new life'. Find what aligns with your passion and build on it. Try to be as versatile as you can by acquiring new skills that will equip you with all that you need to keep up. And if you can, build a career in it or work hard at it to have enough savings to start up on your own.
