The Revival: Arts, Culture and Relevance

When you hear the word ‘revival’, I presume the very first thing that hits your critical mind is a churchy gathering somewhere in the city. Does it then portend the same in this edition? Hell no!!!!!

The revival we talk about here is the deliberate or conscious reincarnation of the abrasion of cultural practices in Nigeria including our local languages through artistic ingenuity like stage plays, prose writings and poetry. If you look very closely, you’ll discover that this trend (of abrasion) started many years ago probably, the first day education crawled into the fabrics of our traditions thereafter birthing cultural laxities that have brought us to where we are today. The effects of these laxities are pronouncedly felt both in the academic circle and the society at large.
